Dog Food: Where’s the Beef? Why HFCS?

I was taking care of a dog and his people brought over the dog food to feed him: Purina Moist & Meaty burger with cheddar cheese flavor. Mouth watering? The dog food is red and orange-ish short “sticks” of food in individual packets. Then I looked at the ingredients: Oh, Crap. –Beef byproduct –Soy flour –Soy grits –High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) –Water –Wheat flour –Corn syrup –Beef – In this “meaty” dog food, beef is the eighth ingredient. Painter’s Birthday Party

Painter can join the nose touching contest Originally uploaded by AZ Greyhound Rescue Painter belonged to Karyn Zoldan and he had a birthday party when he turned 5, 10, and 12. The first two birthday parties included dogs and their people with treats and games for the dogs. His last birthday party at age 12 (he died at 12 1/2) was for people only.
