AZ Beer Festival and Mayoral Proclamation

unnamed-proclamationAnother day, another beer festival for a cause – in this case – Sun Sounds – a Tucson non-profit organization providing audio access to information to people who cannot read print because they have a disability. Sun Sounds bridges the information gap between current print media and people who cannot use it because of a disability. The Arizona Daily Star wrote an interesting article about Sun Sounds and the organizer of this event for 20 years who doesn’t like beer and who is blind.

This is the 30th anniversary of the AZ Beer Festival and it happens October 1 at Kino Sports Complex. Tickets cost $50 for general admission starting at 6 pm or $100 for VIP admission starting at 4 pm. Designated driver tickets cost $20.

Your ticket prices include 20-plus beer and food tastings; VIP has some extra food + contests and a chance to win a trip to Cancun.  Live music + silent auction.

Mayoral Proclamation

In honor of Barrio Brewery and Gentle Ben’s 25th anniversary, Mayor Jonathan Rothschild issued an official proclamation. Congratulations!

Did you know Barrio Brewery is located in a Quonset hut built in 1948 just east of Armory Park? It’s an amazing space. Check it out; patio dining; a popular spot serving good grub too (try the beer battered fries).
