You’re not cooking your dinner on Thursday.
Not in Armory Park Neighborhood.
Chef Castro will be cooking for you.
We’ve invited Chef Jamie Castro and her food truck, “Jamie’s Bitchen Kitchen” into the Armory Park Neighborhood to cook your dinner for you.
Chef Castro brings a certain spicy charm to her menu. If the Soup Nazi has a cousin, she might be Jamie Castro. Just sayin’. Her food is delicious.
Bring your favorite dinner plate and utensils from home, unless you like a cardboard container, of course. The chef also sells soft drinks, water ,and green tea. If you want something else to drink, bring it from home.
A sample of her current menu below. You can mix and change whatever you like to suit you. She’s your private chef. Give her time to make it. She’s a pro.
-Cuban Sandwich: Authentic Mojo-Criollo-marinated pulled pork, topped with delicious bits of smoked ham, sprinkles of swiss cheese, with mustard and pickles. Served on a Panini grilled hoagie.
-Spicy Caribbean jerk chicken layered on a bed of island rice, topped with grilled, chopped pineapple.
-Pulled Cuban Pork: Authentic Mojo-Criollo-marinated pulled pork served muy bueno with black beans and rice.
-Chicago Dog: All beef frank, pickles, onions, tomatoes, and mustard. Served on a Chicago style pretzel bun. Kids favorite.
-Blackened Chicken Tacos: A lightly grilled yellow corn tortilla stuffed with blackened chicken, shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, and cheddar cheese. Served with Cuban style black beans and rice.
-Multi Grain Hummus Wrap: Layered with hummus, shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. Add Blackened chicken or pork for something special.
-Black Beans and Rice: Cuban Style black beans served over either white rice or island rice with red beans, tomatoes, onions, garlic, green peppers, and bacon.
Low key, early evening, catch a bite for dinner near your house. Walk the dog. Graze the sunset ambiance. Bring food home with you, or eat it right there at Ralph’s Service Station.
And for dessert options, Gus and his solar powered Cyclopsicle (groovy ‘food-bicycle’) will be there serving up delicious gourmet popsicles: Cantaloupe Mint, Banana Peanut Butter, Mandarin Orange, Green Tea Cream, Pear and more.. yum-yum!
Watch artist Mel Dominguez create a painting interpretation of the evening.
We’re also looking for private property sites to feed neighborhood residents in West University, Dunbar Spring, Iron Horse, Barrio Viejo, and other neighborhoods.
