Circle of Food Leftovers: Food Network, Nuts, Cakes, Food Critic
Here’s a few delicious crumbs of what I saw on Facebook and Twitter this past week:
Food Network – It’s seems like everyone and their mother, brother, brother—in-law want to get on the Food Network. Me, not so much. I am a behind the scenes person. So if you want to try to get on – here’s what you hoops of fire you need to jump through. Good luck.
Nuts – This might not be so delicious because it’s a food recall. Whole Foods Market recalled Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies because the product has undeclared walnuts. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to walnuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product. The recalled items were sold at Whole Foods Market stores in Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas. The product is packaged in a small brown paper bag, with a clear window and a chocolate chip cookie label on front. The sell-by date and UPC: 2-21485-20399-5 are printed on the back label of the bag. All Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies with sell-by dates March 8, 2012 through March 28, 2012 are affected by the recall. No other best buy dates or products are affected.
Cakes Gone Bad – It used to be the cake walk and now it’s the cake wreck. This blog is hysterical. Cakes gone bad, very bad. You are just going to have to click and view yourself. I just cannot explain it to polite society.
Everyone is a Food Critic – This kind of reminds me of the Fruitcake Lady who used to be on Jay Leno. The Fruitcake Lady was old and frail with a potty mouth. This woman is old but she’s very polite and soft spoken in her phrasing. At 80, she’s a food critic for the Grand Fork Herald in some small town in one of the Dakotas. Someone swept her up and whisked their magic wand and brought her to the Big Apple so she could review a Michelin restaurant. Very funny. Before that, she reviewed Olive Garden.
