at Plaza Palomino in Tucson

Circle of Food blog is loving this innovative idea. What’s not to love? What’s not to amore? There’s the fabulous hand-made artisan pizza at Vero Amore capped with Indian toppings from my favorite food truck — The Twisted Tandoor.

The result is Indian pizza !

It all happens for one day only (marked it on my calendar) from 4 to 9 pm at Plaza Palomino / Swan location. Plaza Palomino needs a little spice. Special paired libations will be available as well. Vero Amore’s regular menu will be available including gluten free and vegetarian pizza options.

In the Tucson food truck community when one food truck praises another for being the best – people take notice. Food truck fanatics seeking Indian street food have been lining up at The Twisted Tandoor. Owner Mukhi Singh says his menu reflects authentic Indian food, the kind his mother and grandmother made not the kind usually served for the American palate. The Twisted Tandoor uses spices like outer bark cinnamon, black cardamom vs. the more common green cardamom, and asafetida. Singh even grows curry leaves in his backyard.

Vero Amore owners Aric Mussman and Joshua Mussman opened the original Vero Amore in midtown in 2006. The popular restaurant featuring wood-fired Neapolitan pizza and fresh, homemade Italian dishes and is now located in Plaza Palomino at Swan and Ft. Lowell . Vero Amore Dove Mountain opened at Dove Mountain Blvd. and Tangerine Road in Marana in 2008. The Mussman Brothers opened Noble Hops, featuring craft beer and fine fare, in Oro Valley in 2011.
