Tucson diners all know Hub and its fabulous ice cream flavors (love the salted caramel) and if you go to the Hub when it’s crowded you have to snake in through the diners, the servers and the decibels to get a scoop of ice cream.
Not any more! Starting May 22, go directly to Hub Ice Cream Factory at 245 E. Congress (almost across the street/next to Sparkroot) to get your chill on. The hours are Sunday-Wednesday, from noon to 10 PM and Thursday-Saturday, from noon to 2 AM
What a bright idea. Every downtown needs a dazzling ice cream store and the Hub Ice Cream Factory fits the bill.
All the ice cream is made in house from scratch with 24 flavors on hand at any one time from a rotating menu of 300. Hey vegans — some flavors are dairy free as well as fruit sorbets plus gluten-free choices.
You can also try the ice cream novelties like tacos made with a folded over cone filled with vanilla ice cream, chocolate and nuts or the super sized strawberry-coconut popsicles, fudgie fudgesicles, floats, sundaes, milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches made with cookies and purple velvet whoopie pies. Whoopie! All are house made.
And I’m pretty certain that the Hub Ice Cream Factory will be opening around Tucson soon enough.
