Apple Crisp

Image via Wikipedia This SUGAR FREE dessert is something on the healthier side and easy to make. I love making apple crisp year round, and this recipe is especially good for those who can not eat a lot of sugar. I have tried different variations to the recipe by adding nuts, or other fruits as well, but it all depends on your preference. Ingredients:  -peeled and slice apples (cut depending on the size you want them) -apple juice (frozen or fresh) -cinnamon -cornstarch -butter -sugar free graham crackers To make this, you simply cut the apples and put them in

Soda Pop is a Killer

Image via Wikipedia Pop is a regular part of many people’s routine, but can it be avoided? For me, I crave pop every once in awhile, so I usually have cans around. Although I have cans usually laying around my place, I know pop is not a problem for me because I prefer to drink water and it usually takes me a couple weeks to finish a 12 pack of pop. I am lucky enough it isn’t a problem, but for a lot of people, they need pop. My roommate in college drinks diet Pepsi and only diet Pepsi. She

Sips & Shots: 50 Shots of America–South Carolina

Ah, South Carolina, home of Charleston, the grand lady of the South. All sorts of antebellum thoughts start running through my head when I think of the coastal cities of the 8th state of the Union. But first, some history. The Carolina colony was one of the original 13, settled in 1670 by English colonists from Barbados and then French Huguenots. Pretty much from the get-go they did a brisk market in slave trading, specifically trading off thousands of Native Americans  which was the cause of the Yamasee War and, ultimately led to the split of the colony into North

Getting the most bang for your buck

Image via Wikipedia Although I am only 19 and in college, I DO know how to save money. I am know to my sorority as the coupon freak, and I am ok with that. Coupons can save a lot of money and more people should start using them. For me, I bought a simple recipe organizer at Target for $1 and organized it by categories of coupons. It is small enough to fit in my purse and I take it everywhere with coupons in it. You will never know when you have a coupon for something unless you have them

I was turned onto this store by my friend and I fell in love. It is a small marketplace that carries mostly fruits, vegetables, and also has a wonderful deli. I love to shop there because I can get food for an entire week, minus a few

Italian Grilled Panini

This is a wonderful new recipe for a panini sandwich. I have a panini maker I bought a couple of years ago, and they are very nice to have. They make a regular sandwich so much more of a treat without adding calories. Traditionally, more panini’s are cooked with butter on the machine to grill the bread, but pan spray works just as well without all that extra butter. I have not made this recipe yet, but I am very excited to try this recipe. It is also very easy to make at college because it is quick and doesn’t
