Please help me welcome Jim Johnson — our newest guest food blogger. He’s a metallurgical engineer from the MidWest who learned how to cook from his Slovak mother who lived to the ripe old age of 92.
Jim was raised on homemade “comfort” foods — cabbage rolls and mashed potatoes, fruit pies, poppy seed rolls, buttered vegetables, and homemade breads. He’s a meat and potatoes man but he loves his vegetables.
Jim doesn’t like to use recipes — he works with what he has and enjoys the creative process. His interests are water skiing, hiking, historical books about wars, and mowing the lawn.
