On September 8 is some big football game. This dinner is not directed to football fans but to others especially football widows. While your old man is watching some guys toss a football across a crowded field — you should be out drinking creme de la creme tequila and eating exquisite food. Fair is fair. He can go to the sports bar and you can go to the Flying V Bar & Grill.

A local tequila master pairs up with Chef de Cuisine Josh Willett to create a 5-course tequila dinner. Enjoy tequila infusions, cocktails and more. Featured tequilas are from Gran Centenario, a family-owned distillery that hand crafts premium tequilas in small batches at Hacienda Los Camichines in Jalisco, Mexico as well as Milagro Tequila, a contemporary distillery created by two friends from Mexico City.

The cost is $60 per person. Reservations are required by calling the Flying V  at 520. 615. 5495.

I went to a tequila pairing dinner last year at the Flying V and it was one of my most favorite events all year. Really good tequila has so much more depth than I ever thought. I was used to cheap margaritas but no more!

The fun starts at 6:30 p.m.
