Who Stole the Cheese?

A while back one of my co-workers was selling catalogue items for her daughter’s school. It was a fundraiser and the catalogue had all sorts of stuff in it: knick knacks, greeting cards, candy and other food related items. Being the foodie that I am, I bought Paula Deen Collection Cheese Biscuit Mix. I love cheese. I love biscuits. I could hardly wait.

Imagine my surprise then when the item finally arrived and I read the ingredients and saw there was no cheese anywhere in the mix. You had to add your own cheese! And from Paula Deen no less, a woman – whether you love her or hate her – who has made her reputation as a down home, salt of the earth, honest as the day is long kind of person.

Don’t get me wrong, the biscuits were pretty good (I added bleu cheese) but I just don’t understand how they can get away with this kind marketing. www.pauladeen.com

Personally, I can’t stand Paula Dean. Her personality is just TOO BIG for my comfort level. She just does not seem like a real person to me.

    That is bizarre.

It’s like saying chocolate cake mix but the consumer would have add her own chocolate.

I think you should write the company. Show me the cheese!
