Wine in Willcox: the perfect October pairing

Cochise County, Ariz.  – Some things just go together like food and wine, art and music. Most people don’t think of Willcox and wine in the same sentence but that’s all about to change. Willcox and the rest of Cochise County has some great wineries that produce some amazing wines.

(As an aside right now I’m drinking my second bottle of Coronado Vineyards 2009 Syrah. It puts me in the mood to relax, put my feet up, and savor the delicate richness.)

Spread the word and broaden your wine palate. Drop by to sample wines from 13 Arizona wineries during the Willcox Wine Country Fall Festival on Oct. 15 & 16.  Willcox is only about 60 to 75 minutes from Tucson.

Wine and Food
For a $10 tasting fee (such a deal!), guests will receive a tasting of six wines, plus a commemorative glass. Additional tasting tickets may be purchased at the hospitality kiosk. Food will be available for purchase from the Dragoon Café, which specializes in made-from-scratch fresh foods, desserts, drinks and catering. The Café will prepare a cheese, fruit and chocolate plate especially for the event (my three favorite food groups on one plate). And for bigger appetites, freshly made sirloin, veggie, garlic-lime pork and chicken burritos will be for sale.
