What do Tucson greyhounds and a live dessert auction have in common?

Well, if you go to the Greyhounds & Friends Fall Festival this Saturday (Nov. 5) — you can bid on some of Tucson’s best desserts — all for a greyt cause – Arizona Greyhound Rescue fundraiser.

The even is not just for greyhounds. All breeds of dogs are welcome and their companions too.

There will be activities for dogs, activities for people, glittery tattoos for kids.

You can shop for cool stuff for you and your dogs.

Your dog can be a judge in the Biscuit Throw Down!

Learn some expert tips from — the experts — trainers, animal communicators, pet massage therapists.

Watch dogs dance. One lucky greyhound will learn a few steps before our very eyes.

For people who love, love, love desserts — the live dessert auction is for you.

Some lucky people (and the highest bidders) will be going home with:

–Triple Layer Dark Chocolate Cake filled with salted caramel and frosted with whipped chocolate caramel ganache from Marianne Banes/Bluefin   (goes well paired with a red wine)

–Luscious Lemony Lemon Cake – Sous Chef Distinctive Catering  (pair with champagne)

–Chocolate Fudge Cake with chocolate fudge frosting – Lovin’ Spoonfuls (vegan sheet cake)  (more red wine or a big glass of milk)

–Zucchini Carrot Layer Cake with toasted pecans and cream cheese frosting – Sarah Wasserman/Baker/AGR Volunteer Director – (serve with coffee or espresso)

–Greyhound Cameo Cake with raspberry cream filling and fondant frosting – Suzi’s Sweet Shoppe  (pair with Proseco)

If you get hungry during the event Quesadillas & More sells yummy Mexican fare and Robeks Juices sell refreshing fruity smoothies.

There is a $5 admission fee per family and includes a door prize ticket.  All funds raised go directly to helping retired race dogs transition into forever homes and other dogs (greyhound mixes/dogs in need) too.
